| Summary: | «Suspended construction» is the designation given to a load bearing skeleton of reinforced concrete delimited to the east by Fernão de Magalhães Avenue in Bonfim, Porto. The word suspended signifies not only its current state, interrupted, but its condition of castle in the air, in other words, a construction built in a daydream with no real grounds. Project is the inevitable machining for its unblocking: an opening to feasible ways, in the eagerness to find alliances for an effective completion, knowing that this is not exclusively dependent on formal but legal, political, economical and social frameworks. Starting from the re-reading of the place in which the suspended construction is located, perspective lines are open in its current state of ruin; it is moulded, within the set of non-given variables, not a one-way road but a multiplicity, however precarious it may be, in order to allow, only, a restart, another start. |
