The problems of developing sociocultural community work practices within these libraries is an issue that deserves attention in favor of active collaboration increase among these institutions, in which it urges to develop better use of this service, through activities and projects of various types of sociocultural work, taking into account the specific contexts where these libraries are located. This research focuses on practices of sociocultural community development in a perspective of cooperation between school and municipal libraries, through the case study of three school libraries and the municipal library in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, Madeira, a context where we developed community work in the past. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there are cooperation practices between those libraries and to qualify them; to collect relevant information to the research carried out and get librarian opinions on the role of professional community workers in libraries; to evaluate the impact of the work that we carried out in the past, as a community worker, in these particular library spaces. The research methodology consisted of semi-structured oral interviews and analysis of the annual plans and reports of these libraries. The main conclusions/results was found in the broad sense of cooperation between municipal and school libraries, based primarily on the existence of practices of animation, making these much yet to develop and explore the spaces under study. |
