Le régionalisme de Jacques Chessex : questions autour d’une lecture de Portrait des Vaudois

Bibliographic Details
Summary:Starting from a reading of Portrait des Vaudois written by the Romand Swiss Jacques Chessex, wherein we will attempt to draw up the regionalisms – either in the lexical level or in the choice of the scenes, near to the folklorism and exalting the “vie du terroir” – we will ask this question: is Chessex a regionalist writer? In fact, is the use of “vaudoiseries” limiting this author? Is he simply a writer “du pays”? In order to answer these questions, we will also base our reflexion on Jacques Chessex’s “posture” in relation to the regionalist question, with a parenthesis dedicated to his mediatic staging.
