Risco de cheias e inundações na cidade de Setúbal
| Resumo: | The urban floods translate into one of the most important impacts on society. In the current context, various preventive measures for flood protection and urban are adopted, most general, corrective measures. The measures may be structural (when they modify the river system avoiding losses from the floods) and nonstructural (better coexistence with the flooding of the population). This project has as its main goal to developing a plan of action of prevention against the occupation of flood risk areas through structural and non-structural, measures associated or not, for the city of Setúbal, which occupies mostly the flood plains of major streams water. Several problems may be associated with these events: inadequate occupation of riverbeds; lack of resources to housing and sanitation; lack of planning occupation of urban space; and lack of warning systems in disaster plans and evacuation of affected areas. Therefore, we present practical and efficient solutions for the best use of risk areas, which will enable a better quality of life in urban areas. Effective participation of the government and the agencies responsible for environmental management and urban policy in the implementation of environmental education and the development of a master plan that prioritizes flood control in urban areas should be paramount. |
