| Summary: | The present dissertation intends to analyze, in a critical way, the supplements and MNSRM with fiber, in the national market. First, the intestinal microbiota, its functioning, the consequences of its imbalance, the effects of eating habits on the gastrointestinal tract, the interactions of food components in the intestinal microbiota were described. Second, after defining the constitution and functional characteristics of the fiber, the strong relationship between these and microbial diversity was identified. The definitions of food supplements and MNSRM were also presented and a comparison was made between them. Thirdly, in order to achieve the main objective of this work, we proceeded to search for supplements and MNSRM, in the national market, whose composition had fiber components, proceeding to the collection of information on these products, from the points of sale: pharmacies, Wells, Celeiros and online stores and a bibliographic investigation of the scientific literature was carried out, based essentially on Pubmed, whose research was focused on the search for articles with less than five years of publication, Google Scholar was also used (Academic), having as keywords, microbiota, dietary fiber, supplements, MNSRM, plants with fiber, among others.
