| Summary: | The present report is part of the pre-service training practices of the Master in Preschool and Primary Education. The research aims to prove the importance of using games in mathematics learning, as a tool that motivates and involves the child or student on mathematical activities. In this sense, the use of games in the classroom allows students get involve in mathematics activities, giving a meaning to mathematical learning. It also allows developing the (mathematical) abilities and competencies that are essential a future citizen. In this investigation, we assumed an interpretative paradigm and an action research design. The participants was a group of children from preschool, 1st graders and the teacher/researcher. The data were collecting through the observation, informal conversations, teacher/researcher’s diary and documents.
