| Summary: | The aim of this dissertation was to determine whether soccer coaches' perceptions of players' decision-making can vary according to sociocultural aspects. To achieve this, an electronic tool was created using Google Forms and sent by email for coaches from different countries, competitive levels, and experiences to evaluate players' decision-making. Based on the instrument described by Klatt et al. (2019), 20 videos of approximately 10 seconds were presented, in which coaches had to assess the decision made on a scale from 1 to 7. Thirty-one responses from coaches from nine different countries were analyzed, with ages ranging from 27 to 59 years (mean 41.0 years) and professional experience ranging from 2 to 30 years (mean 9.1 years). The results showed that there were no significant differences between the groups in most of the videos analyzed. In eight of the twenty videos, there were differences between groups separated by nationality. In two of the twenty videos, there were differences between groups separated by education level. In two other videos, differences were found between groups separated by professional playing experience. These findings suggest that further research into coaches' perception of decision-making could help develop a deeper understanding of this topic. |
