Atmosferas dentro da paisagem - Hotel Douro 41
| Summary: | The present dissertation treated to analyze the Hotel Douro 41, located in Castelo de Paiva, a work authored by Serôdio Furtado & Associados, in order to understand what defines its true Architectural quality. Based on the definition of "Atmosphere" by Peter Zumthor, it began by describing the "atmospheres" existing in the work through a first impression, as a starting point for the analysis of the work. It was considered the antecedents that led to its construction, reflecting the context of the work and its history as well as the political, economic and social factors that led to the construction of the hotel, not forgetting the methods and concepts of the Architecture produced by Serôdio Furtado & Associados . It is from his Architectonic thought that the work was analyzed, focusing on the spaces that acquire the main idea corresponding to the Architectural quality of the Hotel. With this analysis, it was intended to show how the work is able to value, through its "Atmospheres within the Landscape", its surrounding landscape corresponding to the traditional, rural and natural heritage present in the region of Castelo de Paiva and Douro. |
