Relatório de actividade e de desenvolvimento profissional
| Summary: | With this report, it is my intention to make a reflection about my professional devel-opment, harmonizing it with the search of a professional identity, in a way that, as a teacher, I define myself and the others, having always in mind, my activity and profes-sional formation in Portugal since 1975, first as a student in college, and later as a high school teacher until 2010 (the year that, “where”, for personal reasons, I ended my career after 26 years totally devoted to teaching). So, it is my intention to relate this period with my activity and professional formation after 2010, the year “when” I began a completely new professional experience, teaching in college, considering this new stage as the top of my personal and professional ful-fillment. It´s a construction of the professional "self", which was developed through my ca-reer, and that was influenced by different factors, such as my expatriation, school as a student and as a teacher, all the several reforms and political contexts that I have expe-rienced. All this integrates my personal commitment and willingness to learn and teach, my values and beliefs, my knowledge about the subjects I teach and how I teach them, my life experience, and my own professional vulnerability. This justifies that all my commitment at the first stage was worth it, because without it I would never had become the competent and fulfilled professional I am or, to be more accurate, that my community makes me feel. The moment a retrospective evaluation about personal and professional path is made, it´s the moment in which one produces its own life and, for teachers, that also means to produce their job (Nóvoa, 1992,p.13). |
