| Summary: | This work, which aimed to obtain a Master's degree in Pre-School Education, allowed the realization of a scientific investigation, in this case on the “Promotion of the development of Child Autonomy from three to six years old in the context of three pedagogical models: Montessori, High Scope and Modern School Movement”. This investigation will allow us to have the knowledge of the evolution of Education in Portugal between the 19th and 20th centuries, the knowledge of the origin of three pedagogical models, Montessori, High Scope and Modern School Movement, describing their structure and the role of the educator, focusing us on the importance of the development of the child's autonomy and on the way each one works on this issue. A qualitative investigation was carried out, with semi-structured interviews carried out with nine kindergarten teachers, it was possible to verify how, in reality, in the classroom and in daily life, the child develops its autonomy according to the three pedagogical models mentioned. The importance of learning to deepen new knowledge is very relevant for the individual training of each future Educator and Teacher. This investigation showed us, in general, that the structure of the Montessori, High Scope and Movimento da Escola Moderna models, the way they were designed and applied, the environment that is created and thought of in children, such as the materials and daily dynamics are presented to children, they become factors that influence the development of the child's autonomy. |
